The Porch Gallery

The Studio

Seasonal design, with an artist’s eye.

The Porch Gallery began with a simple belief: seasonal décor should feel designed, not unpacked.

We create artist-led Fall and Winter collections built around the architecture, scale, color and character of the property. Sometimes we deliver the collection for you to style. Sometimes we compose the entire installation on site.

Either way, the eye behind it is ours.

Meet Rachel

The eye behind The Porch Gallery.

Rachel has always been drawn to the details other people might walk past. The shape that’s just a little unusual. The color that makes everything around it work. The one piece that suddenly makes the whole arrangement feel finished.

That’s what she loves about working with seasonal materials. Nothing is perfectly uniform, and no two properties ask for exactly the same thing.

A Porch Gallery composition starts with the home itself: the architecture, the scale of the entry, the colors, the steps, the way the eye moves toward the door. Then she starts choosing. A pumpkin for its shape. A branch for its movement. A wreath whose scale balances the door. A ribbon because the composition needs softness.

It’s part design, part instinct and a lot of standing back and looking until everything feels just right.

An artist’s eye deciding what belongs there.

The way we work

The property comes first.

We look at architecture, scale, color, sightlines and the way the space is approached before choosing a single seasonal piece.

Curation matters.

We choose for shape, tone, texture, scale and character, not simply to fill a count.

Composition is the final step.

The right piece in the wrong place is still the wrong piece. Everything is placed to feel like it belongs there.

I loved answering a few questions for the artist, rating images and color palettes, and then seeing all of it come together. When it was finished, I could see and feel ‘me’ in the design. Everyone who saw it said the same thing. This is far from cookie-cutter design.

BEAUTY SHOULD NEVER BE WASTED.

At season's end, the pumpkins from our displays are passed along to local Wisconsin and Illinois farms to feed livestock. In winter, for every installation, The Porch Gallery funds the planting of two trees in America's National Forests: one for the Christmas tree, and one for the greenery that helped create the season.

Because the magic of the season should never belong to just one generation.
